Coronavirus – All you need to know

Coronavirus has taken the world in shock and the numbers are increasing at a rapid rate. India being 2nd largest country have done exceptionally well in controlling the diseases. We are able to flatten the curve of spread of the disease and have been testing aggressively to identify and isolate infected person.

The world is currently staring at a long haul in the fight against COVID 19 and in absence of specific medication and vaccination the only way is prevention and self protection from contracting the disease.

The impact on the economy is so high that indefinite lock down can cause irreparable damage and losses. As we return to work there are some quick sops to follow.

Coronavirus Personal Protection

Protection: Wear a Mask in Public places and at work, it prevents you form contracting the diseases and others contracting disease from you.

Social Distancing – maintain a safe 2 meter distance, this distance is to prevent the droplet from reaching you and getting the disease.

Wash Hands: Frequent hand wash with soap and water can prevent disease, hand rubs and sanitiser are helpful where hand washing is not possible.

Avoid Touching face: Touching your face often with infected hands can lead to infection, avoid touching your mouth, nose and eyes.

Social responsibility: Cover your face or sneeze into the crook of your arm, take off from work if your sick, avoid shaking hands, do not visit public and crowed places, clean up communal spaces such as lifts, door knobs and handles, microwaves, coffee machines, remotes, keyboards, table, ATM, Touchscreens, Biometrics, & Telephones with disinfectant after use.

At home: Keep 6 meters distance from elders and children. Do not share personal belongings with others.

Coronavirus Work Place Protection

Disinfection: The entire office space needs to be disinfected with 1% hypochlorite solution or Lysol.Communal spaces such as lifts, door knobs and handles, microwaves, coffee machines, remotes, keyboards, table, ATM, Touchscreens, Biometrics, telephones with disinfectant before and after use.

Social Distancing: 6 meters distance between each cabinet or chair needs to be met, cafeteria and dining area has to be resigned to practice social distancing.

Temperature: Temperature scanning and hand sanitiser in every entry and exit point in addition to table for accessibility, posters and creatives contain information about protocols has to be pasted

Sick: employees with mild signs such as sneezing , running nose , fever, myalgia ,cough , breathlessness , diarrhoea should stay home and visit hospital if needed.

Air-conditioner: Air-conditioner must be kept at a higher temperature to decrease virus survial and cross ventilation with windows open.
